TASTE OF THE SEAPORT IS OCTOBER 25
Taste of the Seaport celebrates its 15th year on Saturday, October 25, from noon to 5p at Piers 16 and 17. More than 50 local restaurants will have offerings — Carne Mare, La Marchande, Malibu Farm, Delmonico’s, The Fulton — along with live music performances headlined by Timmy Skelly, and KidZone activities for all ages. This is the primary annual fundraiser for Spruce Street School and Peck Slip School. Tickets are now available. Peck Slip Social, from Taste of the Seaport founders Alex Davis and Learan Kahanov, will run the main bar. Six tastes are $60 with the early bird special.
WASHINGTON MARKET SCHOOL FAIR SET FOR OCT. 18
The Washington Market School will host its Nursery School Street Street Fair on Saturday, October 18, 11a to 3p, on Duane between Greenwich and Hudson. There’s live music for kids, a magic show, a puppet show and “Crazy Science,” a science show, along with food and drink and other games for kids. See more info here. CHAMBERS HAS EXPANDED HOURS
Chambers, the noted restaurant on Chambers, has started serving 7 days a week after three years as a five-day operation.
MILKYWAYS HAS CLOSED
Milkyways, an ice cream and cereal spot at 300 Canal, which only opened a few months ago — I spotted it for the first time last week — has permanently closed. Thanks to J. for the tip.
