Seen & Heard: Shredding event in Fidi

RECYLCING EVENT ON FULTON STREET
The Downtown Alliance is hosting its annual fall shred-a-thon and textile recycling event on Saturday, October 4, on Fulton between Ryders Alley and Cliff, from 10a to 2p — or until the truck is full. Please limit to 10 bags/boxes per person, and no commercial shredding permitted. You can also bring freshly-laundered clothing, accessories and textiles for recycling. Accepted items include clothing, shoes, belts, handbags, hats, as well as household linens (curtains, sheets, towels), courtesy of Wearable Collections. NOT allowed are carpeting, rugs, bath mats, comforters, pillows, large luggage, fabric or scraps of any kind. More info here.

NO CLEAR BEER
Maybe I need to chill out, but my pet peeve and blood boiler is sticker ads that will now never leave the sidewalk for years — campaigns for companies that think it is ok to promote themselves by using graffiti on public sidewalks. This one is for Dirty Water, some sort of (gross) fake brew.

LAST SALSA UNDER THE STARS
Westfield will host its last Salsa Under the Stars on the Oculus Plaza on Thursday, Oct. 2, 6 to 9p. The event features a free salsa lesson led by dancer and choreographer Talia Castro-Pozo, followed by open dancing under the city lights. It’s free, but register here.

WARREN STREET HOTEL ADDS OUTSIDE TABLES
The hotel on Warren has added two small cafe tables outside the restaurant.
