SHINKAI DOJO OPENS IN FIDI
A new martial arts program for kids has opened in the Financial District: Shinkai Dojo is now at 139 Fulton, 7th floor. Founded by Kristian Perez, the studio offers classes for ages 3 to 13 and school holiday workshops. Perez has been teaching martial arts in Tribeca and Lower Manhattan for nearly a decade. PAPER SHREDDING DAY IN WMP
Washington Market Park will host a paper shredding day with the Department of Sanitation on Wednesday, October 8, from 9a to noon.

CARINI CARPET IS ONCE AGAIN CARINI LANG
Joseph Carini, whose carpet shop has been on Greenwich since 1997, is changing the name of the store *back* to Carini Lang, which was named for his former business partner, Aurelie Lang. His daughter, Celia, has also joined the company and they have launched a new website. More soon.

WASSERMAN CHIPS IN AT WASHINGTON MARKET PARK
100 employees from Wasserman, the sports marketing and talent management company, spent their volunteer day at Washington Market Park (among other spots), painting the iron perimeter fence and removing microlitter from garden beds. NY Cares directed the company to the park.
