Seen & Heard: Bogardus hosts its scavenger hunt

BOGARDUS PLAZA SCAVENGER HUNT
The Friends of Bogardus Plaza will host its Annual Great Tribeca Scavenger Hunt on Sunday, October 26— not a Halloween event per se, but since it’s the big Halloween weekend, it’s added here. Your team (self selected) will race around Tribeca collecting points by solving missions, learning local lore through trivia questions and being creative with photos and videos. The top 11 teams will get prizes – and they are GREAT this year. Tickets are $35 and the game is intended for kids over 8 and adults. Sign up here.

MAD HOT BALLROOM AT DOCNYC
Mad Hot Ballroom, Tribecan Amy Sewell’s documentary about NYC public school fifth-graders (including at PS 150 when it was still in Tribeca) competing in the extracurricular world of ballroom dancing, will be screened in person on November 15 and November 20 as part of DOCNYC. It’s the 20th anniversary! Get tickets here.

TRIBECA ELEVATOR MUSIC
A pal mentioned that she went to a concert produced by Tribeca Elevator Music and sure enough, here it is: a full service A&R consulting, scouting, artist development and management and DIY-oriented concert promotion agency founded by Bennett Rosner, the “proverbial elevator operator.” “Tribeca Elevator Music is a forward looking guide to the post-modern industry with a touch of old school flair,” he writes on the homepage. “It’s my own scrappy support system for artists and industry folk alike built from my own non-linear journey around the biz.”

MORE BROOKFIELD CLOSURES
J. sent another update from Brookfield: the closure of Club Monaco Women’s on the first floor and Club Monaco Men’s on the second. The Canadian brand closed its Fifth Avenue store in July.
