Emilia George, the maternity store that was founded by Elle Wang here in 2021, has left its Greenwich Street storefront, but the brand is opening soon in West Chelsea and has expanded to other cities. They now have locations in Atlanta and Newport Beach and Irvine in California, and Chelsea should be open before Thanksgiving.

They also have been on Uber Eats for the past year.

The store was burglarized twice in six months — in November 2023 and March 2024 — losing nearly $4000 worth of clothing as well as damage to the storefront in both cases. Both times, the burglar smashed the window on the door and grabbed as much merchandise as he could carry. I should be able to get the full police report tomorrow.

“It’s so unimaginable to experience this in the area. My head is still spinning,” Elle said at the time. “What warmed our hearts was customers continued to come in throughout the day and make purchases even though we had shattered glass and empty racks. What a great community Tribeca is.”
