Thanks to M. for the heads up: Nala’s Bagel & Brunch, which opened on Reade in 2024, has take the long-empty space on the southwest corner of Chambers and Church (Tribeca Rogue — 146 Church) for what will be called Nala’s Bagel & Ice Cream.

The folks at the Reade Street shop had told me this summer that they were expanding to another location — and here we have it. I will follow up with more details.

The menu for both spots is heavy on sandwiches and bagels, of course, but they have a little bit of everything — quinoa bowls, avocado toast, kale salad. We did the loaded everything bagel — which was perfectly toasted — BEC, and it was more like an omelette on a bagel. Perfect. And the chicken parm is shredded chicken tossed in marinara, with sliced mozzarella on panini, which was smooth and flat.

Prices are a couple dollars cheaper that the average for these times: the chicken parm was $13; the sausage burrito breakfast sandwich is $12. And they cater!
