An elevated sports bar out of Las Vegas and a Western-themed bar featuring mechanical bulls and line dancing will occupy 14,000 square feet of Pier 17 starting in fall 2026. Flanker New York City and the modern country bar, The Hidden Boot Saloon, are two concepts from the same developer and will each take a floor of the southeast corner of the pier.
Seaport Entertainment Group is the landlord and the tenant is Carver Road Hospitality — an investor, developer, operator and marketer of hospitality concepts founded by hospitality executive Sean Christie and real estate, media and marketing executive Nelson Famadas in December 2021. The company debuted in Las Vegas with Carversteak at Resorts World Las Vegas and soon after, Flanker Kitchen + Sporting Club in downtown Salt Lake City. There is also a location at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona and Flanker at Mandalay Bay on the Las Vegas Strip.
This will be their flagship East Coast location.
They only had the one rendering to share, but the space will house two distinct standalone concepts on two floors with views of the East River. The designers are The Design Agency.
On the ground floor, Flanker will offer elevated, cocktail-focused sports, dining and tableside experiences, featuring state-of-the-art audiovisual production and dedicated areas for private events.
The second floor will house The Hidden Boot Saloon, which includes three modern country bars – among them a 40-foot main bar overlooking the East River – and offers line dancing, a mechanical bull and a “country-style party atmosphere.” The original Hidden Boot Saloon at Flanker Salt Lake City is known for its western decor from the 1950s combined with modern Utah design elements.
“Flanker is not just a sports bar; it’s a fully immersive dining, cocktail, and entertainment experience that connects people through food, energy, and design,” said Christie in the press release. “The Seaport is the perfect social setting to bring that vision to life in one of the city’s most exciting destinations.”
