Church Street School’s annual Gingerbread House Decorating Workshops are back for the holiday season beginning on Sunday, December 7, and then both Saturdays and Sundays through December 21. Workshops are at 2 and 4p at the school at 41 White. You can also purchase kits. Sign up here.
SAVAGE WONDER POPPING UP FROM BEACON
Savage Wonder Art Center, the non-profit in Beacon, NY, that features American performing and visual arts created by military veterans, first responder veterans, and their immediate family members, is popping up here until December 6 to showcase its mission and work. CELEBRATING EVACUATION DAY DOWNTOWN
The Lower Manhattan Historical Association will celebrated Evacuation Day, the day when the United States truly became independent in 1783, on Saturday, November 22, with a procession beginning promptly at 11:45a in front of Fraunces Tavern, 54 Pearl Street. HAAS BROTHERS DRAWINGS AT R & COMPANY
R & Company has a show of the Haas Brothers’ recent drawings — each work in the series pairs hand-drawn characters with hand-carved frames made by their father, presenting intimate studies of relationships, whether with oneself or others, infused with empathy and humor. “Deeply influenced by the cartoons and media of their childhood, the Haas Brothers are firm believers in the power of animated storytelling as an early guide in shaping a sense of right and wrong.”
