Apollo Bagels, which has taken the Kings space, told me they are aiming for early March. (This despite the signs that say the space is for lease…)

MIXUE IS OPEN ON CANAL
Mixue, the crazy popular soft ice cream and tea shop out of China, has opened two stores in Midtown and one on Canal and Cortlandt Alley. Thanks to J. for the shots.

HOLYWATER OPENS IN NOLA
The brothers from Crew — Tribecan Alex and Miles Pincus, who also have Grand Banks — will soon open a new Holywater on their home turf in New Orleans. The oyster bar and dining room is in an 1800s maritime chandlery — and of course I had to look that one up. Turns out it was originally a word for a person who makes and sells candles, but it has evolved to a dealer in supplies and equipment for ships and boats.

MAKERS WORKSHOP IN BPC
Battery Park City will host a a sustainable makers workshop and inventor’s lab for kids on Saturday, January 24, at 10:30a at 6 River Terrace. Led by teaching artists, kids and their families will hone their skills, use real tools and experiment with recycled materials, found objects and textiles to bring their ideas to life.
