Because J. sent this amazing shot of the Battery Park City ferry terminal, above, I had to run some more snow pics. (Also, thanks to pals who planned ahead, we got in a cross-country ski in Rockefeller Park, where we met a snow bunny. Only in New York.)
But I also have to note that the curb cuts around the neighborhood are a wreck — this is the city’s responsibility — and there are lots of buildings that have not bothered to shovel. I had to walk to Chinatown and back this morning and it was in no way accessible. At the corner of Chambers and Centre — just east of City Hall — a stranger had to help a woman carry her stroller across the street.
There are several intersections — Duane and West Broadway for one — where there’s not a clear corner.
The only group in Tribeca that deserves credit is Bogardus Plaza, whose team from ACE not only shoveled but salted. (When I went through at around 4p yesterday, there were five guys from the MTA holding shovels and watching one person shovel the subway stairs.)
please, please tell me where the rabbit came from!
It’s a pet! The family brings it to the park often.
