S. sent this crazy photo of what looks like a sanding truck falling into the ground at the base of City Hall Park. “There’s a bunch of people trying to figure out what to do,” he reported. I am awaiting word on the details.

LOCAL DOC RAISING FUNDS FOR AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION
Longtime Tribecan Dr. Kim Henderson is raising funds for the American Heart Association as part of its Women of Impact campaign. “Heart disease remains the leading cause of death among American women, yet their warning signs are underdiagnosed, misunderstood or simply dismissed,” Kim said. A former emergency room doctor, Kim is now the head of Wealth Management Health and Wellness Education at Morgan Stanley. She is also a judge for the Morgan Stanley Innovation Awards, which provides mentorship to startups focused on youth health. And she was the executive sponsor of the Morgan Stanley HBCU Scholars Program, which awards scholarships and academic support to underprivileged students. Donate to her campaign here.

HRP PLAYGROUND COMMITTEE LUNCHEON
Hudson River Park Friends will host its 10th Annual Playground Committee Luncheon on Friday, March 6, 11:30a, at Tribeca Rooftop on Desbrosses. The event, a fundraiser, honors Catherine Holstein, the founder of KHAITE, and Kelly Molinari a vice president at L’Oréal Groupe. The HRPK Friends Playground Committee supports everything the park with a focus on kids of all ages, environmental education, sports and families. Tickets are here.

EVENT RENTAL ON GOVERNORS ISLAND
Never thought about this before, but the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, which runs the Arts Center at Governors Island — the building just to the right as you head up the hill from the ferry landing — rents it out. Putting it down here for our next wedding! The renovated, 40,000 square foot building houses two galleries, two rehearsal studios, a cafe, and a multi-media events room and is able to host events for up to 200 people.
