BLIZZARD DOES SOME DAMAGE IN BOGARDUS
The Blizzard of ’26 took down a bunch of tree limbs in Bogardus Plaza, and the Parks Department will pitch in to clear them, the Friends of Bogardus said. The Parks Department’s forestry division has been busy across the city collecting and trimming limbs snapped by the weight of the snow, receiving more than 1,800 reports of downed trees and fallen limbs citywide.
BIG SPRING CUTBACK AT THE BATTERY
The Battery Conservancy will host a Big Spring Cutback volunteer event on Saturday, March 21, from 10a to noon, starting at the SeaGlass Carousel. Volunteers will work alongside the horticulture team to cut back leftover plant debris from last season, tidy garden beds, and help prepare the park for new growth. No gardening experience is necessary; the park will provide tools, guidance, and plenty of fresh air. Register here.
ANOTHER CLOSURE AT BROOKFIELD
J. wrote to say that the Drybar location in Brookfield was papered over and sure enough it is no longer on the website location list. (They still have one on West Broadway and Leonard.)
