A. asked: “The bathrooms at Washington Market Park are padlocked. Do you know why?”

So I do know that a pipe burst in the park’s bathroom building on February 4 — I happened to be at Toby’s Estate (when it had first opened) and ran over to ask a worker coming out of the park after I saw the park gates were locked. The burst pipe flooded the area around the bathrooms, he said, and the park was closed for a day while Parks staff cleared the ice, etc.

But the bathrooms remain closed as of yesterday and the Parks Department press office does not have an update on repairs.

Not much of an answer to a good question, but that’s all I have for now. Will try to learn more…

Plus, still a lot of snow holding on in the park!
