Jeff Tabak sent a note this week: Mariah Carey’s apartment at 90 Franklin (on the northeast corner with Church) is on the market for $27 million. The last we saw it, she planned out a Tribeca Christmas on her Instagram in 2022. (Fans could win a chance to celebrate in the neighborhood at her favorite spots: Nobu, Mr Chow and a cocktail hour on her rooftop.) The listing describes it as her *former* home, and while I couldn’t find it in city records, The Post says she is still the owner, having bought it in 1999 for $9 million.
She did live like a local: in 2012, T. voted alongside her, where she marked her ballot for Obama and posed for pictures with other voters.
The apartment is a 12,700-square-foot triplex on the 16th, 17th and 18th floors with a huge roof deck and a walk-in lingerie closet. An Architectural Digest feature noted its bronze-inlaid limestone flooring in the foyer and a living room sheathed in silver leaf and painted in a leaf pattern. “This apartment was basically a raw space,” the interior designer Mario Buatta told the magazine in 2013. “The Art Déco influence came from the architecture of the building, which was erected during that period.”
She featured the apartment in an episode of MTV’s Cribs in 2005, which now has some cult status (the video below has commentary included).
