The Friends of Duane Park‘s 11th-annual Inside Tribeca Loft Tour is Oct. 17. For a mere $50, you have four hours to get a close look at around 10 lofts. (The tour is self-guided.) Only 300 400 tickets are sold, so buy yours now! Proceeds help to maintain Duane Park.
I got a preview of three of the lofts on this year’s tour—there are never repeats from year to year—and it was really cool. Here are some photos from the first one, located on Duane Street and owned by Sherri Donghia (of the furniture-and-textile Donghias). She moved in 12 years ago, at which point the space was raw. It’s hard to imagine what that must’ve been like, given the impressive array of fabrics, wallcoverings, antiques, and objets d’art. I’m not a shelter writer, so I’ll let the photos do the talking (although I’m hardly a shelter photographer either!). If this apartment looks familiar, you may have seen it in various magazines, including Town & Country—it’s also featured in the new book At Home with Town & Country.
what only 300 tickets are being sold???????
that is new. is this true
You’re right: It’s 400 (I was told 300…).
