Look what we have here: The big brown Sheraton Tribeca, unveiled. I’ve questioned why Sheraton would want its brand on Canal Street—the building was originally to be a budget hotel—and whether it’s the most appealing addition to the cityscape. (No.) But I have to say, as I walked on the south side of Canal—passing in front of the hotel before crossing the street to take a photo—I found the lack of chaos refreshing. All in all, a relative improvement?
P.S. Is the “T” in the façade supposed to stand for “Tribeca”? Oy.
