••• The windows at the Christina Lehr store on Reade are now opaque because it has become, in industry jargon, a showtique—part showroom, part boutique. “As you know we are primarily a wholesaler, so we thought to merge the wholesale and retail to one spot,” explains Lehr. “Tuesday to Thursday we are offering new items weekly and special guest pop-up designers…. Friday and Saturday are for private shopping and wholesale accounts.”

••• The Oval, a two-acre lawn at the Battery, opens tomorrow (Saturday) with “a weekend fair celebrating our region’s biodiversity and its emerging food and plant producers.” Click that link to see the list of 90 vendors. Also, the release says that “the 22-year renovation of the Battery is complete.”

••• Also tomorrow: “Battery Park City Community Day will feature free lawn games, prizes, ice cream, pizza and other refreshments—plus full access to all Community Center at Stuyvesant High School offerings. Guests can swim in the half-sized Olympic pool, play basketball, use the weight room, play pickup basketball, and compete in the free throw and three-point shot contests. There will also be 20-minute fitness classes throughout the day, including yoga, total body boxing workout, tai chi, core fitness, cardio swim, and Masala Banghra dance fitness.” It’s 1-7 p.m.

••• Anyone know what’s coming to the retail space at 173 W. Broadway (northeast corner of Worth)? The Department of Buildings permit posted on the door mentions finishes and fixtures, which leads me to believe the space has been leased.

••• “Any idea where to go to get a window repaired in my apartment?” asks S. “It’s the exterior window which is cracked and my co-op company had no suggestions.” Neither do I. Any advice?

••• Speaking of windows: I’m generally fine with people being responsible for their own choices, but anyone standing on a ledge like that is putting pedestrians at risk, too.
