••• I’ve been obsessed with the fruit vendors on Mulberry just below Canal. It’s persimmon season (fuyu but not hachiya), so those have obviously been important to buy, but also mangosteens, rambutans, and dragon fruit (red and white varieties)…. I’m working my way up to a durian.

••• At some point, Il Principe restaurant at the Hotel Hugo, on Greenwich just above Spring, became Café Hugo: “Café Hugo invites guests to dine on simple farm-to-table American fare in a sophisticated setting, rich with polished wood and nautical influences to match the hotel’s aesthetic. Café Hugo is curated to satisfy for breakfast, a quick lunch or a casual dinner as guests enjoy everything from a morning cocktail with avocado toast, or all day offerings such as house-made rigatoni al Pomodoro or steak frites.”

••• Opening Oct. 26 at Cheryl Hazan Gallery: “Uneven Edges, a solo exhibition of new work by Deb Lawrence. Uneven Edges features a selection of works distinguished by their unique materiality, process, and conceptual intention.
