Seen & Heard: Wine Bar on W. Broadway?

••• The post about Il Mulino’s plans for Greenwich Street initially reported that the location was 355 Greenwich. But the liquor-license application had the wrong address; it’s actually 361 Greenwich, which is where Tablao currently is.

••• In other additions to the CB1 agendas: The liquor-license application for the former White Street restaurant space has been postponed; Chabad of Tribeca, street activity permit application for Reade Street between Broadway and Church, Sunday, September 17, 2017 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.; and most interestingly, “Rakesh Chandiramani or corporation to be formed” is applying for a wine-and-beer license for 66 W. Broadway (maybe for where Babesta Threads is, which has been on the market?). Rakesh Chandiramani is the co-founder of GVI Hospitality, which owns and operates the mini-chain of Vin Sur Vingt wine bars.

••• Nom Wah Kuai posted a pic of its location inside the soon-to-open food hall at Canal Street Market (friends-and-family event is May 10, so public opening must come soon after). UPDATE: It’s opening sometime the week of May 15.

••• From the NYC Department of Transportation: “Demand for the City’s streets has grown dramatically and that impairs freight efficiency. […] The DOT would like to hear from residents and business operators as they develop a citywide strategy to meet their needs for truck deliveries while also meeting their sustainability goals. Join the DOT at the first series of workshops, starting at 55 Water Street in Lower Manhattan on May 11, 2017.” More info.

••• May 17 at the Museum of Jewish Heritage: “Abraham H. Foxman, Director of the Center for the Study of Anti-Semitism, in conversation with Museum Chairman Bruce Ratner: Foxman shares his personal story about his life as a hidden child and his parents’ struggle to get him back.” Tickets are $15.

••• Press release: “NYC Loft Tenants, which advocates for loft tenants and rent stabilization in NYC, is hosting a Rally for a Better Loft Law on May 25, 7 p.m. at San Damiano Mission (85 N. 15th St.) in Greenpoint. The Rally for a Better Loft Law aims to galvanize support for improved Loft Law legislation. The new bill aims to: Eliminate the application deadline; create a new ‘window period’ so tenants who moved in after 2010 can apply for coverage; fix building code requirement guidelines.”
