••• Diane pointed out on Facebook that Jersey City mayor Steven Fulop announced a July 4 fireworks show at Exchange Place, as part of a larger party: “Kool and The Gang will take the stage a little after 8 p.m. and the fireworks will start at 925 p.m.”
••• About that recent rumor of a Japanese steakhouse opening in the former Nobu space: Becky reminded us in a comment that the Japanese steakhouse had been interested in the space a while ago: “They negotiated for nine months before the deal fell through—now the bldg is jacking up the monthlies for everyone in the building because they didn’t expect the vacancy. He added the leading contender for the main Nobu space is an all women’s boxing gym, which just seems sad.”
••• Grandaisy tweeted that its strawberry jam is available again. I keep meaning to pick some up—heard it’s terrific.
••• Posted by Tribeca Language on Facebook: “It’s true we are moving out of 22 Harrison St. but now, for children, the teachers will come to you with all our amazing, proprietary tools and adults can meet at our new space at 200 Broadway!”
••• The Roxy Cinema’s July schedule is less arty than in previous months; maybe it’s a summer thing. Could be fun to see the original version of The Beguiled on a big screen.

Thanks for the heads up about the jersey city fireworks, will try to see if I can see it at Battery Park tonight. :)
Me too. I’m hoping that not that many people are aware of it and it’s not too crowded.
