The burgeoning gallery district in northeast Tribeca—home to Alexander and Bonin, Apexart, Bortolami, Postmasters, R & Company, Patrick Parrish, the National Exemplar, Mmuseumm, Untitled Space, and soon Artists Space—is about to get a huge boost. From the Commercial Observer: “After 25 years as a Los Angeles institution, Regen Projects is spreading its wings with the addition of a New York City gallery [….] The contemporary international art gallery has sealed a deal for 5,800 square feet at The Wannamaker, a seven-story 29,000-square-foot residential building at 60 Lispenard. […] The new gallery is slated to open in four to six months.”
Regen’s roster of artists includes the likes of Raymond Pettibon (detail below), Elizabeth Peyton, Richard Prince, Catherine Opie, Anish Kapoor, Matthew Barney, Marilyn Minter, and Wolfgang Tillmans.
Maybe this gallery will aid the push to clean up Lispenard and rid it off the counterfeiters.
