••• Five & Dime Hospitality has quietly soft-opened at 8 Park Place, inside the Woolworth Building. It’s a café by day and a cocktail bar by night (once the liquor license is approved). The space looks fantastic, and Kaffe 1668 is handling the coffee service. Full report to come.
••• A pop-up opens tomorrow at 180, via Aura: “This past July, Hiroki Nakamura launched visvim’s first flagship store in North America alongside its womenswear offshoot, WMV, in Sante Fe, New Mexico. This time around, both Japanese labels will finally make their way to New York City in one brick-and-mortar establishment situated in the historic Tribeca neighborhood. […] To further complement the brand’s handcrafted ethos/Americana-inspired designs, the space will also tout custom “Jibari-Shiki” lanterns from Kyoto alongside a linen noren embellished with a handpainted American flag. A slew of exclusive visvim and WMV pieces will be made available for purchase at the shop as well as limited-edition F.I.L Indigo Camping Trailer products.”
••• On October 2, work is finally going to start on Bogardus Plaza.
••• This weekend, Houseman starts serving brunch on Saturdays (as has done on Sundays for a while now).
••• Morgik Metals has left for Paterson, N.J. (The “for lease” sign went up last month.)
••• And the Nelly boutique at 85 Chambers is closing. There have been “for rent” and “building for sale” signs up for a long time now.
