Tribeca
1) 184 Duane Street, application for expansion of Street Seats for Laughing Man Coffee – Resolution
When Laughing Man tried this last year, the committee rejected it. From the Unofficial Minutes: “The committee acknowledged that the Street Seats installation is popular, but it ultimately couldn’t justify the expansion; the vote against the project was 6-0-1-1, the last two being an abstention and a recusal. As he left, Steingard noted that there were 350 signatures in favor, and minimal opposition—indeed, no other neighboring business objected. ‘The committee suddenly outweighs the community?’ he asked, to no answer.”
UPDATE: “We are asking for half the extension as last year (8 feet),” says Laughing Man’s David Steingard.
2) 285 West Broadway, review of complaints and police activity for Haus – Resolution

The agenda on CB1’s site marks the discussion of Haus as cancelled.
Bummer! Thanks. (I think CB1 wants to wait till Haus agrees to show up, which may never happen.)
No, no, no more seats for Laughing Man! They have enough already. Duane Street space needs to be shared
by all businesses and citizens! Do not overextend your welcome.
You don’t have to be a customer of “Laughing Man” to sit there.
