••• “Big fire at 346 Broadway on the 10th floor,” reports Adam of the building also known as 108 Leonard. “Tons of firefighters. Looks like it’s out now. Can’t be great for their construction schedule.” Indeed.
••• Shigure is now serving lunch. Here’s the menu.
••• The restaurant coming to 20 Warren posted details on its application, including that it’ll be a “full-service restaurant (Japanese cuisine),” going by the name ICCA (can that be right?), and it’s owned by Omusubi Corporation. The hours (11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 5-11 p.m.) aren’t especially controversial. You might recall that the Department of Buildings paperwork pointed toward a beef company called the Nobels Group; omusubi, on the other hand, is a kind of Japanese rice ball. But maybe the corporate name isn’t relevant…. I was hoping to learn more at next week’s meeting of the CB1 Licensing Committee, but I just hard that 20 Warren postponed till at least next month.
••• From the Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown: “We have launched our new Resident Healer’s Program at The Spa, featuring three phenomenal women who are skilled in acupuncture, meditation, crystal therapy, clairvoyance, chakra clearing and yoga.” Spas offer clairvoyance treatments now? I wonder how that jibes with the New York State law….
••• When did Spring Studios get the faux industrial metal panels at its entrance on Varick?
••• What appears to be the film Motherless Brooklyn—starring Bruce Willis, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Willem Dafoe, and Ed Norton—was filming in the Church/Franklin area yesterday.

The book Motherless Brooklyn was hilarious.
I had a strong feeling you were going to write about the Four Seasons clairvoyance treatments.
my guess is that the fire at 108 Leonard will “inadvertently” damage the clock and its mechanism and thus save them the trouble of dealing with Landmarks and having to preserve it.
