The Wall Street Humidor Has Closed

The Wall Street Humidor, at 18 Warren, has evidently closed: The website no longer exists, the phone is disconnected, and Yelp says so. It’s not a huge surprise, as the retail condo has been on the market for $4.15 million since January. The shop/lounge appears to have opened around 1996.

Cigar smokers still have at least three options downtown—Davidoff of Geneva at Brookfield Place, Barclay Rex on Pearl, and the Soho Cigar Bar on Watts.

  1. This is really such a shame. WSH was the best place to smoke in NY.. hand down.

The laid-back, unpretentious atmosphere was unmatched. Huge and airy with tin ceilings.. quiet but friendly, refined yet relaxed.

The selection was one of the best in the entire city and was operated by it’s owner, Richard, who had a vast knowledge of cigars and a million other things, guaranteeing a diverse clientele of friendly and smart people from all walks of life.

    It was a true gem.

Sticking through the worst times this neighborhood (or veritably any other can possibly) have seen, it’s sad to see it go.

I wish Richard many years of happiness on the golf courses and hope, with little expectation, for a similar place to grace this city one day again.

    Another nail in the coffin.
