••• From The Real Deal: “HAP Investments filed plans Thursday for a 41-unit, 19-story condo project in Tribeca” at the southeast corner of Broadway and Franklin. This building, branded 65 Franklin, rather than 360 Broadway, has been in the works for a while: The rendering above is from February (and it doesn’t show the 18-story L-shaped building planned for behind it, with frontage on Franklin and Broadway; the status of that project is unknown). From YIMBY: “The estimated completion date [for 65 Franklin] has not been announced, and demolition permits have not been filed yet.” StreetEasy says that the existing building is from 1900.
••• “On July 10, officers from the NYPD’s First Precinct raided the Hudson Club, which neighbors allege is an unlicensed nightclub at 21 South End Avenue, issuing multiple summonses and making one arrest. This issue first arose in May, shortly after the new establishment (the entrance to which is located on West Thames Street, near the Esplanade, in a space formerly occupied by the Battery Park City Authority) opened and began hosting events.” —Broadsheet
••• “A curious tourist accidentally took a trip back to 1865 when she wandered into a century-old fortress and former prison on Governors Island—and got locked inside. […] Stover rushed back to the front and, like many prisoners likely did before her, wedged her arms through a small opening in the doors and started screaming to be let out. […] Despite feeling ‘like forever,’ Stover’s prison term was over within an hour and she was set free.” Naturally, she managed to get a selfie first. —New York Post
