••• You may finally be able to get into Frenchette: “Starting on Monday, September 24th, chef-owners Lee Hanson and Riad Nasr will begin lunch service, with reservations available via Resy or through the Frenchette website starting today. Highlights from the new menu will include two set prix-fixe options; the two-course Menu Roquette ($29), which includes a glass of wine and coffee, and the more indulgent three-course Menu Amusette ($38). There will also be an à la carte menu, featuring hors d’oeuvres as well as entree options which will evolve much in the same fashion as Frenchette’s dinner menu. ••• There’s a new exhibit at the New York City Department of Records and Information Services (31 Chambers). Feeding the City: The Unpublished WPA Federal Writers’ Project Manuscript. “‘New York City never stops eating,’ wrote the authors of Feeding the City in 1940—as true then as it is today. Vintage recipes and photographs, bold and colorful advertising brochures, and excerpts from the unpublished Feeding the City manuscript are featured in this exhibit of materials from the NYC Unit of the Works Progress Administration Federal Writers’ Project.” Through March 2019.
