TRAFFIC LIGHT FOR RECTOR/SOUTH END AVE.
The Broadsheet reported last month that city DOT has agreed to put a traffic light at the intersection of Rector and South End Avenue, especially in light of the April 4 accident that killed a woman as she crossed the avenue. It should be installed by the end of June. Gateway resident Arlene Kalfus, 81, was killed while crossing at Liberty Street.

HOTEL PLANNED FOR FULTON AND BWAY
New York Yimby reports that permits have been filed for a 41-story, 419-foot hotel at 140 Fulton, between Nassau and Broadway. The owner is Hidrock Properties.

SOM AND BOOZE TO 7 WTC
Crain’s reports that French liquor giant Moët Hennessy is considering moving to 7 World Trade Center from Chelsea (way west on 10th). And Skidmore, Owings & Merrill will move from 14 Wall into the same building, subleasing from Moody’s, the building’s largest tenant.

FULTON PLAZA APARTMENTS SOLD
The Real Deal reports that Fulton Plaza Apartments, at 106 Fulton, has been purchased by the Thurman family of Thurcon Construction and Development for $77.5 million. The building has 81 residential units, ground floor retail space and two floors of commercial space.

DAILY NEWS OPINION
The Daily News, in an opinion piece, encourages the city to start kicking out boats at The Battery that trick tourists into rip-off boat rides, saying they will take them to the statue when in fact they take them uptown only to putter around the harbor. “As Pier 36 and the other docks used by the bogus boats are city-owned, the city Economic Development Corp. can end the hawkers by revoking berthing rights as their tickets are illegally being sold in a city park. In the past, EDC has tossed out one boat and suspended another for such violations. But now all the boats are back, as are the hawkers.”
