Seen & Heard: Fred Bivetto photos at Western Union building

FRED BIVETTO AT WESTERN UNION
Battery Park City resident Fred J. Bivetto will have a display of his photos titled “NYC Observations in Black and White” in the windows of 160 West Broadway (the Western Union Building) at the corner of Thomas Street. The show of 12 photos will be up starting tomorrow, August 14, through Sept 29th. All photos are available for sale and you can see more work here on Instagram.

HRP MAMAS EARLY EDUCATION FAIR
HRP Mamas will host its 6th Annual Early Education Fair on Sept. 15th from noon to 4p at New York Law School, 185 West Broadway. The event is free and includes early education specialists, preschools, day care providers and preschool alternatives. Register here for a two-hour time slot.

BACKPACK DRIVE AT EVERAFTER
The folks at everafter on Greenwich are teaming with Jetblack, the personal shopping service, and Jessica Seinfeld’s non-profit Good+Foundation to fill 5,000 donated backpacks and distribute to kids in need here and in LA. Now through August 25, you can drop off new, unused backpacks and supplies (there’s a list here) that Good+Foundation will distribute before school starts. You can also make a donation of $25 that will purchase two backpacks on the everafter website here.

POP-UP BAR AT PIER 17
Pier 17 now has an outdoor summer pop-up bar located on the pier level just next to The Fulton called The Lookout. (The views are pretty swell.) The menu includes tacos, lobster rolls, hot dogs, and other small bites. Open every day from noon to midnight and extended until till 2a on Friday and Saturday nights.
