BRINGING HELP TO THE HOMELESS
The city is training 18,000 employees from other departments (parks, sanitation, buildings, etc) to help bring services to street homeless, and help convince them to go to shelters. The city will also add 200 new homeless outreach workers, bringing the number to 600. –The Times

RESTAURANT DESIGN KUDOS
Archpaper, the architect’s newspaper, gives praise for four local restaurants whose design adds to the new Tribeca Design District: Primo’s in the Frederick Hotel, designed by Camilla Deterre; Manhatta, designed by Woods Bagot; A Summer Day Cafe designed by Savvy Studio; and Interlude, the coffee shop on Hudson, designed by Kimoy Studios. (I think we could add a few more here, not the least of which is Frenchette.)

Just bring in bunch of old cruise ships and put them on them.
Not sure what training 18,000 random people who already don’t care about their jobs will do.
The architecture article and recognition is dated October 2018. Timely?
The City announced they are moving on legislation to get more housing for the formerly homeless. I sit on a board in San Francisco for Community Housing Partnership. We build housing for the formerly homeless and include support services. Its not perfect but its the best possible solution.
While the cruise ship idea is one that comes up on both coasts, it needs services to help folks get back on their feet. Not every case is the same and in fact there are several categories ranging from mental health issues to job training and plain old bad luck.
We can all deliver compassion to the homeless by advocating for supportive housing solutions.
