PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE TO BE DISMANTLED
The Rector Street bridge will be dismantled this week — starting Thursday through to Sunday, and mostly at night. The walking path between West Thames and Albany will be closed, as well as the bike path and Albany Street. I guess this ends the campaign to keep the bridge, led mostly by Robert Schneck in a quixotic effort…

THE EVENT FOR CHURCH STREET SCHOOL
Church Street School for Music & Art will host its annual fundraiser — The Event — on March 10 at Tribeca Rooftop. This year’s party will honor the Kleiman family and will be hosted by artist chair (and actress) Julia Stiles. Tickets are here.

BOOK SIGNING AT LUV MICHAEL
The granola factory Luv Michael (at 42 Walker) will host a book signing TODAY from 5 to 7p for the new illustrated book “Inside Tales of ‘Luv’, A Very Big Idea About Empowerment.” The children’s book tells Michael’s story, which reflects a real-world issue facing millions of young adults with autism and developmental disabilities – the lack of educational services after age 18.

9/11 MEMORIAL RUN/WALK PLANNED FOR APRIL 26
The 9/11 Memorial & Museum will host its eighth annual 5K Run/Walk and Community Day on April 26. The route winds through Lower Manhattan (passing by One World Trade Center and the Statue of Liberty) and ends at the 9/11 Memorial. SOME ’80S VIEWS
After seeing the news about CVS coming to the northwest corner of Warren and Church, Suellen Epstein sent these photos looking west, pre-25 Murray, and this reminiscence: “Miss the shop, Job-Lot, at the NW corner of Church and Warren, the place to be and be seen, poking around for the practical and impractical in the ’70s and ’80s. That is the 2 (or 3 ?) buildings that developer turned into the current building. I still have 2 bricks I took out of their dumpster (pre dumpster covers) which I use to weigh down my salmon when making Gravlax.”
