GO FUND ME FOR FORGE FAMILY
Marc Forgione has started a GoFundMe page for his staff, after so many regular customers asked how they could help. The money raised will provide financial assistance to his chefs, waiters and behind-the-scenes staff. “This has been a very sad few days and some of the most difficult in our entire careers. We recognize that it’s a difficult time for many industries, not just ours, so we truly appreciate any donations, no matter how small.” The fund is at $31,000 to date.
OH YEAH, YESTERDAY WAS ST. PATRICK’S DAY
N. sent this great view of the newly greened-up turf at Pier 40 with the Empire State Building lit up in the distance. “Never a favorite holiday [and she’s legit Irish!] but I was wistful last night.”
IF EVER THERE WAS A TIME FOR BINGE WATCHING…
My family just started watching Lost, the J.J. Abrams show from the mid-aughts, and boy, was that timing good. Highly recommend for the 12-and-over set. (We just finished season 1 last week, so the action is ramping up.) G. sent over a Gothamist link to tips and recommendations, and here are a few others from The Times, Vanity Fair, Vulture and Wired, with the tech help too.
This is a great idea. But we need to basically do it for every business in town, they’re all screwed.
Anyone see poke green? “Spend $13 on food and get sanitizer or paper towels for cost”
Smart idea, I hope it works and helps keep people employed
