Photojournalist and longtime Tribecan Donna Ferrato is selling a series of photographs of the neighborhood, titled the Tribeca Document, in order to raise funds for victims of domestic violence, who are especially vulnerable in these times. She has partnered with Sanctuary for Families for years, since she started her work of documenting domestic violence catalogued in a 1991 book titled “Living with the Enemy.” All funds raised will go towards their work, with a goal of $25,000.

Photographs can be purchased on her website and will be sold in editions of 25. (One is more evocative than the next.) Prints start at $100 for a 5 x 7, with 50 percent going to Sanctuary for Families and the remainder towards the cost of the print.

In 2014, Ferrato launched the “I Am Unbeatable” campaign to continue documenting — and prevent — domestic violence against women and children through real stories of real people. Ferrato has contributed to almost every major news publication in the country, and her photographs have appeared in nearly 500 solo exhibitions in museums and galleries worldwide. She has been a recipient of the W. Eugene Smith Grant, the Robert F. Kennedy Award for Outstanding Coverage of the Plight of the Disadvantaged, the IWMF Courage in Journalism Award, the Missouri Medal of Honor for Distinguished Service in Journalism, Artist of the Year at the Tribeca Film Festival, and the Look3 Insightful Artist of the Year.

She has just released her fifth limited edition Tribeca portfolio. Her next book, “Holy,” spotlights the sacredness of women’s rights. It will be published by PowerHouse Books.
