Recent closings around the neighborhood

HOLY GROUND MOVES OUT THE BANQUETTES
Despite the fact that Holy Ground did not mention this when we emailed the other day about their smoker on wheels, it seems their days on Reade may be done. F. sent this photo — and a few readers spotted a moving truck before — of the banquettes coming out from the subterranean space.

ALLERGY DOC CLOSES WITH LITTLE NOTICE
Advanced Allergy and Asthma on Broadway, Dr. Steven Simonte’s practice, closed in March with this abrupt note to patients: As of March 27th, 2020 the office has closed and no medical services are available. We recommend that you contact your primary care physician or new allergist for ongoing medical care. Thank you for allowing us to be your medical provider and we hope that you and your family stay well during the ongoing corona pandemic.

CHINA CHALET GOES OUT WITH A WHIMPER
Eater reports that Fidi’s party spot China Chalet — on Broadway and Exchange Place — appears to have closed permanently. “Located way downtown at 47 Broadway since 1975, China Chalet was one of those places, and probably the only one of its sort still fully functioning in the Wall Street neighborhood. Now it too will become a memory. The restaurant did not return calls or a request for comment, but there are dozens of tweets and Instagram posts lamenting its passing.”

  1. heard jack’s both reade & roxy are closing at the end of next month too

  2. Dr. Steven Simonte was my allergist since he came to Tribeca a number of years ago. I received notice of the closing of his office at least two months in advance, with plenty of time to get records. There was also a list of recommended allergists in the neighborhood.

  3. Walked by Fidi and saw that 150 Market at the corner of William and Fulton Streets is closed until further notice.
