More in Citi Bike news: On Duane Street, neighbors are still trying to get the city to throttle back — or remove — the station in front of The Hideaway and have built a website with some local ridership data and a survey to support the effort.

Tribeca Docks is both an effort to get the city to do a longer-term master plan for Citi Bike ridership and station placement in the neighborhood, and to take more input from neighbors. The survey (find it here) mostly focuses on identifying a preferred location for the Duane Street station. But there are also options to rate three random locations around the neighborhood and write in other suggestions. (Just FYI, DOT said they would return the station at Whole Foods once the Greenwich Street construction is finished.)

On a Zoom CB1 Transportation Committee meeting in early September, DOT said it has plans to expand the Duane Street station, past Duane Park Patisserie, but that it would hold off until the Open Restaurants program ended on Oct. 31. So now that the mayor has extended the curbside regs through the year — and maybe permanently — they will have to rethink that promise. (My last few emails to DOT received no answer — but they no doubt got sick of my questions, which were getting pretty regular.)

According to the site, which sourced data from a company that prepared a report for the city, Citi Bike ridership in Tribeca is up 65 percent in the last year, and the two busiest stations in the hood are Citi HQ and Murray alongside Target. Action at the Duane Street station is up 35 percent.
