Seen & Heard: Prayers for Eric Adams at Washington Market Park

PRAYERS FOR ERIC ADAMS
B. caught a bit of the action and let me know: Eric Adams’ campaign hosted a prayer meeting for the candidate on the Greenwich Street sidewalk alongside Washington Market Park on Friday. “The power of prayer — I’m so grateful to have the support of our clergy at this pivotal moment, and for the faith they’ve placed in our shared vision of a safer, fairer, more secure future for all,” he tweeted. As Brooklyn borough president he hosts an annual “50 Days of Prayer” starting in January, but this was clearly a campaign event.

STAPLE STREET BRIDGE BLACK(GREEN)OUT
G. sent this shot — the windows on the skywalk have oddly been painted over. (The bridge connects all of 9 Jay with an apartment at 67 Hudson.) The property is no longer listed nor has it been sold. I still think it’s the coolest ever…

LOCAL STUDENT SHOWS AT WESTERN UNION
Local student Yadna A. Prasad has a show of photos at the Western Union building on West Broadway. Yadna is a rising 10th grader at Fieldston and uses photography as a way to “encapsulate memories forever.”

TEST KITCHEN AT 250 VESEY?
J. spotted this note and photo that announces a test kitchen called Cicci di Carne at 250 Vesey. “There’s a menu on Seamless for Italian deli-type stuff. Wonder if this will replace Parm, which appears to be dead.” Maybe it’s more of a ghost kitchen than a test kitchen??

  1. Re Cicci di Carne — if you google it, you’ll find links to Grubhub for restaurants in both Seattle and Sacrimento (both “not accepting orders on Grubhub, but may be soon”) that have the exact same menu as the listing for BPC (which is on Grubhub too). There’s also a pending trademark/service mark application for something called Cicci di Carne by Dario from an LLC with an address on Spring Street.
