AMEX BACK IN MID-OCTOBER
Adding to the reports in delays of return to office, Crain’s reports that AmEx will now bring people back on Oct. 11, pushing back a month from its original date. But then Crain’s had another story, using data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, showing that only a quarter of workers are working from home: “Last month roughly 25 percent of managers and professional workers teleworked at some point because of the pandemic, the lowest since the government started tracking the data in May 2020. It’s a clear sign that the age-old work compact is mostly intact, and that the office model is far from defunct. The July number was down from 41 percent in January and 57 percent in May 2020.”

LUXURY CONDOS DOMINATING MARKET
The WSJ reports that luxury condos have been what’s keeping the market lively: in one week 33 homes went into contracts and collectively they were worth $278.3 million.
