BOMB SCARE TURNS OUT TO BE UNFOUNDED
The Post reported that the Woolworth Building was evacuated Saturday afternoon for a bomb threat that police eventually learned was unfounded. Traffic between Chambers and Barclay streets was shut down as authorities performed a clean sweep of the building.
THE MANSION TAX EXPLAINED
If you are poised to buy something over $2 million, Streeteasy has a primer on the mansion tax — both the state flat tax and the supplemental tax for NYC. “Let’s say you decide to treat yourself to a $7,000,000 condo in Tribeca. The supplemental tax rate due is 1.25% (a whopping $87,500), in addition to a 1% mansion tax of $70,000.”
A MILLION DAFFODILS
New Yorkers for Parks will double it’s daffodil project this year in honor of not just 9/11 but also the 30,000 NYC victims of the coronavirus. That puts the number of bulbs they will distribute up to 1 million.
BOBA TEA + SNEAKERS
Eater has a list of all the restaurants that have opened since covid, and on it is a place called “Unedited by Solely Tea,” which sells sneakers and boba teas. At “their second store that opened in July, the siblings are widening their selection of sneakers and serving boba that they make each morning at the shop. Hot milk teas, Yakult, and slushies all come with tapioca by default (between $4 and $6.25) and can be made with flavored jellies or popping boba for 50 cents more.”
