PS 150 will have vaccines available ONLY FOR KIDS ages 5 to 11 on a walk-in basis tomorrow, Monday, Nov. 22, from 7:30 till 4:30. (That’s my nephew getting his at the Museum of Natural History, which has a site up for kids and adults seven days a week. I got my booster there last Sunday.)

No appointment is needed, and they will administer the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Read more on the DOE site here.

• Students ages 5-11 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, or by an adult designated by the parent or guardian, while receiving their vaccine. If the student is accompanied by an adult who is not the parent or guardian, the vaccine provider must either obtain verbal consent from the parent or guardian by phone at the time of vaccination, or parent/guardians may choose to send a completed consent form, below, with the adult designee.
• You do not need health insurance to get vaccinated—the vaccine is free.
• All records and information associated with vaccination are kept strictly confidential.
• Vaccines are administered by trained medical professionals.
• You are encouraged to record your student’s vaccination status in the DOE’s COVID-19 Vaccination Portal.

The site at the museum is open seven days a week, 10a to 5p, but closed this week on Wednesday and Thursday for Thanksgiving. The site is open to walk-ins, serving U.S. residents ages 5 and up. The wait for us was about 15 minutes on a Sunday.

The word on the street is that the parents of 5- to 11-year-olds have been busy making their vax appointments — CVS and Walgreens and doctor appointments were booked up all over Manhattan by early afternoon as soon as the approval came through earlier this month.
