VARIETY COFFEE COMING TO BEEKMAN & NASSAU
It looks like the local chain called Variety Coffee Roasters is coming to the corner of Beekman and Nassau, just down the street from Starbucks on Park Row. It opened in 2008 in Williamsburg, added five more locations in Brooklyn as well as Chelsea and the UES, and in 2014 they started roasting their own beans at the Bushwick location: “We roast every day here in Brooklyn because we fucking love coffee.”

TRINITY RESUMES MEAL SERVICE
Trinity Church resumed its Compassion Meals and Compassion Market programs last month, serving free grab-and-go meals three times a day, Monday through Saturday at the church on Broadway and Wall. Breakfast is 9 to 10a; lunch is noon to 1p; dinner is 5 to 6p on the last Friday of the month. To volunteer, see more info here.

RIVER TO RIVER CUED UP FOR JUNE
The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council has released details on the 21st annual River To River Festival, held this year from June 12–26 across Lower Manhattan plus on Governors Island. All events are free. This year’s calendar includes dance and performance by Gregory Corbino, keyon gaskin, Beth Gill, Jonathan Gonzalez, Amy Khoshbin, Heather Kravas, Okwui Okpowasili; music by Craig Harris; visual art by Rose Desiano, Amy Khoshbin and Jennifer Khosbin; and films by Peter Born. JON PEPPER RELEASES THIRD CORPORATE SATIRE
BPC resident Jon Pepper has released a third book in his “Fossil Feuds” corporate satire series called “Green Goddess”: “Anxiety over a looming ‘climate crisis’ gives enemies of the Crowe Power Company a reason—or an excuse—to attack chairperson Lindsey Harper Crowe and threaten to destroy her family enterprise.
