STATE SENATE CANDIDATES MEET & GREET
The Tribeca Alliance will host the three candidates for our state senate seat on Wednesday, August 17, 6 to 7p at Laughing Man. Brian Kavanaugh (the incumbent), Vittoria Fariello and Danyela Souza Egorov will each provide a brief description of their positions on issues, answer questions about business initiatives and take questions from the audience. BLUES BBQ IN HUDSON RIVER PARK
A bit far afield, but totally worth a day out: Hudson River Park will host its annual Blues BBQ Festival at Pier 76 (36th Street) this Saturday, August 13, from 1 to 9p. Starting at 2:30 the line up is: Dwayne Dopsie & The Zydeco Hellraisers, Jackie Venson, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Bette Smith and Don Bryant. The event is free but food and drink from a dozen breweries and bbq joints is for sale.

DISCO AT THE SEAPORT
The Seaport will host a disco night on Wednesday, August 17, from 7 to 8:30. More info here.

TENNIS AT BROOKFIELD
Brookfield will have a tennis court set up on the plaza starting August 23 through Sept. 1 and registration is open now to grab time on the court or sign up for adult or kid clinics or mini-camps. See more info here.
