AN EARLY ADOPTER CELEBRATES 30 YEARS
As the excellent expansion of the Tribeca Gallery District continues to march down Broadway, Art Projects International, at Vestry and Greenwich, is celebrating 30 years overall — 25 in Tribeca. Founder and director Jung Lee Sanders has presented and organized over 150 exhibitions and featured works by more than 80 artists from around the world. The anniversary show will have a selection of exemplary works and new works by an intergenerational group of international artists spanning more than three decades. Also highlighted are important collaborative ventures, group shows and many previously unpublished photographs of people who have been part of the gallery’s history. Up from March 10 to April 29 at 434 Greenwich.

SLOWDOWN AT THE SLA
After listening to several lawyers for restaurants complain at the CB1 meetings, it seems the SLA is really behind schedule. We saw that with several local applicants, but those guys see more than any one neighborhood, and they said the process is now taking nearly triple as long to review applications than it did in 2019. “For all intents and purposes, the liquor authority is going out of business,” said one lawyer. “They are calmly telling people it’s going to take eight months.”

BIN LADEN PAPERS AT 9/11 MUSEUM
The 9/11 Memorial & Museum will host a conversation about the Bin Laden Papers with Nelly Lahoud, a senior fellow in New America’s International Security program, on Wednesday, March 15, at 6p. Lahoud recently published “The Bin Laden Papers: How the Abbottabad Raid Revealed the Truth about al-Qaeda, Its Leader and His Family,” which distills the content of nearly 6,000 pages of Arabic language private communications that were recovered during the raid.
