LONDON’S GINGERBREAD CITY COMING TO FULTON
The Gingerbread City, an installation of a miniature real-life city made of gingerbread, is coming to the Seaport at 25 Fulton starting Nov. 18 and running through Jan. 7. Tickets are $25 for above 12 years old and $18 for below 12s. Nothing can beat the New York Botanical Garden’s train show, but this sounds a bit reminiscent of that — and it was created by the founder of London’s Museum of Architecture — the installation is in its seventh year there. ALVIN ENG TO DISCUSS MEMOIR
Tribecan Alvin Eng will discuss his memoir, “Our Laundry, Our Town,” on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 6:30 at the Chatham Square NYPL, 33 East Broadway. The event is being co-sponsored by Chatham Square’s Talking Books: Asian American Authors in Conversation series and Think! Chinatown’s Chinatown Arts Festival. The event is free; RSVP here.

FAMILY DAY AT MUSEUM OF JEWISH HERITAGE
The Museum of Jewish Heritage will host a day of family activities pegged to its new show, Courage to Act: Rescue in Denmark, on Sunday, October 22, 11a to 4p. There will be singing and dancing as well as Danish and Klezmer music; art projects and a quiet reading corner with activities open all day. Register here.

HEAVY METAL AT GALERIE56
Tribecan Lee F. Mindel has a show up titled “Heavy Metal” at his Galerie56, just next to the Bean at 56 Leonard on Church. The exhibit runs through November 9 and examines the way metal has been utilized in design applications and scales across the 20th century through the work of “heavyweights” such as Tony Duquette, Margaret Evangeline, Norman Foster, Gio Ponti, Jean Prouvé, Hechizoo, Josef Hoffman, and Poul Kjaerholm.
