POETS HOUSE REOPENS SATURDAY
Poets House in Battery Park City at the end of Murray, which I thought had closed permanently in December 2020, is reopening on Saturday, Jan. 27, with a celebration from 3 to 6p. The facility celebrates poets and poetry, but is also a great, quiet respite that was open to the public. The pandemic shut it down, but they also had a flood that caused significant damage to the space. (Fortunately, the collection of poems was saved.) Regular hours will be 11a to 7p, Tuesdays thru Saturdays. I will get over there soon to check out the new space.

WINTER DOG DAYS ON GOVERNORS ISLAND
Dogs are allowed on Governors Island for winter daily beginning at 10a now through April 30. Dogs must remain on a leash, including while on Governors Island ferries. A free ticket add-on is required for visitors bringing their dogs over. This can be reserved at govisland.org/ferry. (Above, Atlas, one of the working dogs of the island.)
The governor’s island people should lead by example and post pictures of their dogs ON LEASH!
Those are the working dogs and are not on leash when chasing geese!
