ANN STREET IS OPEN TO TRAFFIC
Ann Street between Nassau and William has been closed to traffic since the garage at 57 Ann collapsed last April. Charlie Komanoff sent a note that it’s open again, and sure enough, here it is. The garage collapse killed one and seemingly contributed to the death of a longtime local resident who lived next door and whose apartment was breached by the falling debris.

MARIAN GOODMAN GALLERY UNDERWAY
This will be quite an opening when it comes: Marian Goodman Gallery has taken the entire building at 385 Broadway, which was first meant to be a social club before covid. They said the space is set to open in the fall, although they haven’t finalized a specific date yet.

TRIBECA CHAMBER PLAYERS THIS WEEKEND
Join the Tribeca Chamber Players at 2p this Sunday, February 25, at the Downtown Community Center at 120 Warren for a free performance of Mozart’s Divertimento for String Trio in E-flat Major, K. 563. The concert is titled “Mozart on the Road.” “Divertimenti were light serenades, sort of 18th Century elevator music (probably staircase music back then),” said the violist, Jim Hopkins. “But this is an awesomely beautiful work and a high-water mark in Mozart’s output. It was written in 1788 during the Austro-Turkish war, when the closure of opera houses slowed Mozart’s income to a trickle. His infant daughter died that year, and everything was looking bleak – so naturally he went on a road trip! – during which he premiered the Divertimento at a stop in Dresden.”
