WESTSIDE FEST THIS WEEKEND
Westside Fest, which is a coalition of 20 museums, parks, performing arts centers and cultural institutions largely in Chelsea and the West Village, is hosting its annual festival, which means open hours and events at a bunch of spots along the Westside. The farthest south they seem to go is the Whitney. See the schedule for Friday through Sunday here.

MEDUSA UNRAVELING AT THE OPENING GALLERY
The Opening Gallery will host Greek artist Pavlina Vagioni’s first exhibit in the city starting today through August 10, at 42 Walker. The artworks present the narrative surrounding Medusa and the prejudice, fear and gender dynamics associated with her lore, spanning from ancient mythology to today. The gallery was founded by Greek curator and scholar Sozita Goudanna and partners with MoMA, Watermill Center and other institutions to offer established artists a chance to expand their practices into new mediums such as text/publishing, performance and music.
