String of car fires in the neighborhood

A. sent the first photos Friday, and then another came from C. yesterday: there has clearly been a string of car fires — arson it looks like — over the past several days.

I tried the FDNY, no reply; the NYPD said there were no complaint reports on file — and to try the FDNY.

A. said she heard indirectly from a FDNY officer on the scene that there were five incidents of cars lit on fire in the neighborhood on Thursday night, and she could document two. One was on Hudson and Worth, above, and below, on the south side of Vestry east of Hudson. She also heard that the FDNY has video of the man who set the cars on fire. The last shot, from C., is across from 20 River Terrace.

If I hear back from the FDNY, I will update this post.

  1. … but the city is going great they say… we really need better elected officials who actually enforce law and order.

    • Reality is that residents don’t show up at the election sites and vote for local or even mid-term elections. Run the numbers, it’s pathetically low. So we really can’t complain if say, our Councilman doesn’t perform. He was elected by those that actually did show up.
