Harry’s Italian in the Goldman Breezeway has closed

M. happened by Harry’s Italian in the Goldman breezeway and noticed it was closed — and there is no longer a mention of that location on the website. Only the Gold Street location is listed.

And in fact I heard back from the folks at Harry’s Steakhouse at 1 Hanover Square and he said “we did receive the news that Harry’s Italian that was on Murray street is permanently closed since Sunday.” Harry’s Italian on Gold Street is still open.

Both Harry’s are run by Harry’s Restaurant Group, founded in 1972 by Harry Poulakakos, who immigrated from Greece with his wife, Adrienne. His first restaurant was on Hanover Square and many more followed, with Harry’s son Peter taking over. Harry’s Italian opened in 2009 as a partnership between Peter and Harry and the team from Nick’s Pizza; the company also has a Harry’s in West Palm Beach, and Adrienne’s Pizzabar, Harry’s Side Bar and Ulysses Folk House on Stone Street,

The company also had the lease on Pier A, though now the Battery Park City Authority is suing the company for unpaid rent at the building, according to ABC7.
