Seen & Heard: Halloween in Washington Market Park

WASHINGTON MARKET PARK HALLOWEEN
I haven’t heard from many local organizations on their halloween plans, but wanted to get everyone the dates for the big annual ones in Washington Market Park:

10th Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest
The Friends of Washington Market Park will hold its annual Pumpkin Carving Contest on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 3 to 6p. Bring your carved pumpkin to the park between 3 and 5; judges will give out awards at 5:30.

Annual Halloween Parade & Concert
Halloween Parade on Sunday, Sept. 27, starting at 1p from Greenwich and Beach. The parade will queue up starting at approximately 12:45p and will be led by The Queer Big Apple Marching Corps!

SKY-HIGH TAGGING
Yipes. Both A. and N. caught sight of a graffiti tag on the abandoned 45 Park Place. That’s 660 feet up. So much for security there… And the city assures us that the crane is regularly inspected…

INTERLUDES AT BELVEDERE PLAZA
Battery Park City will host Bia Ferreira as part of its Interludes series on Thursday, Oct. 3, 5:30 to 6:30, at Belvedere Plaza. Ferreira is a Brazilian singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist.
