ICE SKATING ON THE PIER 17 ROOF
The ice skating rink is coming back to the roof at Pier 17, along with a tavern created by The Dead Rabbit folks called Jingle Jangle. They described it this way: “The celebration embraces nostalgic Irish family festivities and the magic of the holiday season with warming, seasonal dishes served alongside kitsch-themed cocktails, an ice-skating rink, over-the-top décor, and a Christmas soundtrack with all your favorite hits.” More info and hours for the skating here.

‘PEOPLE WHO THRIVE’ MEETING ON VESTRY
People Who Thrive, a group that aims to foster “interdependence” among New Yorkers, is using Fabrik, a space at 12-16 Vestry for its monthly meetings starting Nov. 20 at 6:30p. At each meeting, each speaker takes 10 minutes to talk about a time in their life or their career when they asked for help, and how receiving that help had a transformative impact. Then, everyone has one minute to address the group and share their “elevator pitch,” an “ask” (something they need help with), and an “offer” (a way they can be of service to others). “New York City is a vast and diverse city full of go-getters, but pretty much everyone is looking for the same thing: a community. People Who Thrive is an inviting, warm environment that makes going after your dreams and building a support network easier.” The event costs $20. Register here.
